Ian Anderson - Founder & Managing Director
Ian
Anderson founded Ailm Consulting Ltd. in direct response to his
long-term career focus on directing and counselling knowledge-based
industries to seize growth opportunities and improve bottom-line
profitability. Ian’s industrial experience is broad, especially in the
health and life sciences, and information and communications services
sectors. His general management background comprised of more than
twenty years includes such international industries as pharmaceuticals,
chemicals, medical technology and devices, and biotechnology and he was
a founding Principal of a major national contract management firm.
Ailm Consulting’s substantial technical awareness is supported by Ian’s enviable track record of performance as advisor to technology venture investors, and as mentor to corporate Boards and top management. This has frequently involved serving as Interim CEO or Executive Chairman.
Ian possesses extensive governance expertise from his nearly twenty years of Board tenure and two terms on the Board of the Institute of Corporate Directors where he managed the strategic planning process. He also gained wide industry exposure as a Board Director of several major trade and professional associations. His experience as a Corporate Director encompasses both larger multinational subsidiaries and smaller technology companies.
Having served as a Principal of both advertising and public relations firms, Ian is a consummate communicator and has distinguished himself as Chair of Pubic Relations for the Boards of key industry organizations in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Ian Anderson has a M.Sc. Physiology from the University of London, is credentialed as a Chartered Biologist and Information Scientist, and is a Certified Marketing Professional. He also holds diplomas in corporate governance, marketing research and adult education.
